Pulemau Trina graduated with a Bachelor of Justice Studies (Critical Criminology) in 2003 and a Bachelor of Laws in 2010 from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). While working as a public servant, Pulemau obtained her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT in 2011.

Pulemau has extensive legal experience in advocacy and litigation, predominately in human rights and legal matters relating to children and young people in the child protection system and adults with impaired capacity.
Her extensive public service experience includes appearances in court proceedings before the Childrens Court in Beenleigh, Gold Coast, Ipswich and Far North Queensland, Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Mental Health Review Tribunal, Mental Health Court, Magistrates Court, Queensland Human Rights Commission, and involvement in matters in the District and Supreme Courts.

Pulemau’s strong Christian faith and passion for serving others includes volunteering as a youth leader and Sunday School teacher for the Logan City Congregational Christian Church of Samoa in Australia Inc. She is also one of the founding members for PLAQ (the Pasifika Lawyers Association of Queensland Inc) a multicultural Association of Pacific Island lawyers, law students, legal or justice professionals in the Queensland diaspora. Pulemau was previously PLAQ’s treasurer for several years and was recently re-appointed as President for PLAQ in late 2022.

Pulemau is also a co-founder of Pasefika Autism Village Support Group (PAVSG), which is currently operating in the states of Queensland and NSW with the goal of expanding across Australia.

Pulemau is a strong advocate for the recognition of human rights, particularly for children with special needs. She is blessed with 2 amazing autistic blessings - her 10 year old nephew Leviticus, an autistic non verbal amazing little human who inspires her to do better because he can, and his 4 year old sister Hadassah who inspires her to not allow the world to define how loud she can be.
